Foundation Introduction to mountain biking in a safe environment.  ​Duration: 2 hours Maximum 5 participants ​Covers the key skills such as: Correct body position Braking Using gears  Particular techniques explored on the day will depend on the interests and abilities of the riders present. A moderate level of fitness is recommended  ​Minimum Age: 15 years All riders must have Aus Cycling insurance: https://www.auscycling.org.au/membership  Free 4 week trail is available: https://www.auscycling.org.au/membership/other/free-trial A waiver will be sent prior to the event please confirm and complete it before your session. Please have proof of your Aus Cycling membership ready to view before your session starts. November 25th 2023 8.15am -  10.30am Horswood Car Park Main Entrance Please arrive at 8.15am sharp MEET: At the main entrance to Horsewood Road car park, near the map stand.   If you are unable to attend your session, please reach out to reschedule to the next available session. We are unable to offer a refund but can either reschedule or exchange for LDTR Merch.

Foundations Just started or returning back to MTB, this is a great introduction to feeling more confident on the bike. Book in for this free session today! The session is offered at no cost to riders attending the Women Shuttle Day, 12th Nov.  ​Duration: 2 hours per session Maximum: 6 participants per session ​Covers the key skills such as: Body position Gears Braking Particular techniques explored on the day will depend on the interests and abilities of the riders present. A moderate level of fitness is recommended  An Explore MTB session will help you build a strong foundation for your riding. By developing strong skills and techniques, you will gain confidence and have more fun riding your bike. Mountain biking is so much fun and we think everyone should have a go! Take the fear out of failing, and let us help you develop your skills in a safe and supportive environment. By creating and refining strong foundational skills, and progressing at your pace, you will be able to expand your skills and feel more confident to explore new trails and features. We believe in keeping it simple. - We’ll explain the “what, why and how” of a skill - We’ll show you clear visual demonstrations of a skill - We’ll work with you to practice each skill in a controlled environment before taking it to the trails - We’ll provide feedback and encouragement to help you get to grips with each element of riding About me I'm Michelle and I've lived in Forrest with my husband and two kids since mid 2019. I am a PMBIA Level 1 Instructor and Guide, and also an AusCycling Development Instructor. I have a WWCC and First Aid. I'm on the Forrest MTB Club committee and I've been involved in the Forrest Trail Revitilisation Project working group. I'm keen to help people get outside and enjoy mountain biking. Intermediate Mountain biking at the You Yangs. Been riding a while, and its time to sharpen up your skills? Book in for this free session today! The session is offered at no cost to riders attending the Women Shuttle Day, 12th Nov.  ​Duration: 2 hours per session Maximum: 6 participants per session ​Covers the key skills such as: ​Session content: We will quickly revise the fundamentals of body position, braking and cornering, to make sure you are building your skills from a solid starting point. We will then get into some more advanced cornering/switchback techniques (both up and down), pumping/flowing the trail, climbing skills, obstacle management and front wheel lifts.    Particular techniques explored on the day will depend on the interests and abilities of the riders present. Trailblazers Junior Rides are GO GO GO! Ride lengths will be around 1.5hrs, and is open to all abilities (rides may be longer or shorter depending on the riders). Any groups we split off into will be "no drop" and we'll meet up at any junctions for a chat - it's a nice cruisy social ride Is your shredder a Blazer or a Speedy? Blazer, can ride a mix of single track and fireroads and ride approximately 10kms at varied pace. Speedy, can ride 90% of the trails at Lysty and comfortably ride 10-15km.  A parent or guardian is REQUIRED to ride with your child - If you dont ride but your child can ride with a mate and thier guardian, just fill out the details on your ticket. We would love to see some new parent helpers, if you can help out on the day or future events please reach out at administration@lysterfieldmtb.com Time & Place: Please enter via Horswood Road, drive through the gates, and turn LEFT at the roundabout into the carpark, then follow this all the way to the BBQ/Lake carpark at the end. We meet at the BBQ area nearest to the dam wall and skills park. Check-in from 8.30 to 8.30am, for a 9.00am ride out for all groups Meet back up at the BBQ area around 10:30 for some snacks, drinks, and catch up after the ride. Duration: Approx 1.5hrs ride time, varies depending on group speed Cost: FREE! - but you must register all participants (Parents and Guardians do not need to register) All riders MUST have Aus Cycling Insurance, this is non-negotiable: https://www.auscycling.org.au/membership All Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian - we are unable to take unsupervised children for this ride

Join us for a relaxed social ride on Lysterfield's beautiful mountain bike trails. We ride in 3 groups, so regardless of your ability and fitness, this is the ride for you. All groups are no drop rides. If the single trails are closed, we will do a mini mystery adventure at Lysterfield Park. Cruisy Competant/Foundation - Relaxed Pace Are you new to the sport? Or wanting to get back into it after a few years away? Whether you’ve never ridden a mountain bike before, or you don't get out that often but enjoy a bit of a challenge, but mostly want a ride through the bush with some features and lots of laughs along the way. This is the group for you. Whether you're an absolute newby, or a competant rider. Come ride with us! Intermediate Confident: This ride is for those able to ride their MTB with confidence and would like to explore Lysty at a relaxed pace. Can you ride a loop at Lysty? Is your fitness at a level where you can ride 15-20k comfortably. Can you ride 80-100% of the features at Lysty? Then this ride would suit you. *Expect to ride Black Trails at Lysty  Advanced + Speed: Are you confident on 100% of the trails at Lysterfield? Do you ride regularly at Lysty and at other MTB parks? Would like like a bit a speed and a lot of adventure? Then this will be the group for you! *Expect to ride Black Trails at Lysty + lots of hills. Up to 30Km You must register for this event, we will be running as separate groups, subject to ride leader availability. Once we have finished join us for coffee and snacks and chats at the Orchard @ Montagues. There is no charge for this event but you MUST register. Trail Blazers Scavenger Hunt

The Trail Blazers have grabbed the bulls by the horns and developed their very own scavenger hunt ride! There will be the scavenger hunt ride, lunch, maintenance session, bike wash demonstration and clothing exchange. All sessions on the day have been developed and will be delivered by a trail blazer! Come and join us on the trails, learn some new skills, and meet other riders just like you! There is no charge for this event but you MUST register your child, parents or guardians do not need to register. Children riding must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.  This is a free event funded by Lysterfield District Trail Riders with the support from Change Our Game. 8.30 arrival for registration and a play on the Jigsaw Jumps, roll out for scavenger hunt will begin at 9am. What you will need: - A mountain bike in good working order - An Australian safety standards-approved helmet - Water, snacks, spare tube This event will sell out, if you book a place, please be responsible and commit to the position, or leave it for another child to attend.
