TRAIL CONDITIONS + OPEN STATUS

The land managers of Lysterfield Park are Parks Victoria. They are responsible for the safety of the mountain bike trails.

Our MTB trail conditions are monitored by the Parks Victoria staff regularly. Under the Parks Act, Parks Victoria rangers will close MTB trails if certain criteria are met.

Parks Victoria staff update the LDTR committee of trail closures and openings, which LDTR then communicate to the community via social media and the news section of this website.

Closures will also be communicated on Parks Vic website and signs/ tape will also be places around Lysterield Park.

Please respect the closures and do not ride where you see closure signs/taped off area/ bunting.

TRAIL INFORMATION

Here at LDTR, we really love bike riding, and especially on the mountain bike trails at Lysterfield Park. There's just something so satisfying about having 24kms of purpose built mountain bike trails, only 40kms out from the Melbourne CBD. Our trails are nestled in between suburban areas in south-east Melbourne.

The other thing we love about our trails is that you can ride them with any skill level and still have a good time. With a 279 meter elevation, you can still get your heart rate up on the climbs, but also manage to do a full loop starting from and ending at the carpark without having to worry about shuttles. People often tell us about how they started their mountain bike adventures at Lysterfield Park and then went on to try more technical and gravity focused trails. But without building their foundations and with the ease of accessibility to trails close to home, they wouldn't have been as confident. Now that's a bonus for all involved in biking in Victoria!
