Private Skills Session: With Jonathan

Focus Intermediate riders who want to learn advanced techniques: Skills session with Johnathan Goh ​Duration: 2 hours Maximum 5 participants ​ Covers the key skills such as: picking different line choices,  how to tackle trail obstacles, advanced braking techniques, body position for faster cornering, stronger climbing and more confident, stable descending. ​​ Particular techniques explored on the day will depend on the interest and abilities of the riders present. Moderate level of fitness is recommended  ​Minimum Age: 15 years All riders must have Aus Cycling insurance: https://www.auscycling.org.au/membership  Free 4 week trail is available: https://www.auscycling.org.au/membership/other/free-trial A waiver will be sent prior to event please confrim and completed before your session. Join us for a relaxed social ride on Lysterfield's beautiful mountain bike trails. We ride in 3 groups, so regardless of your ability and fitness, this is the ride for you. All groups are no drop rides. If the single trails are closed, we will do a mini mystery adventure at lysterfield park Beginners: Are you new to the sport, or wanting to get back into it after a few years away? Whether you’ve never ridden a mountain bike before, or you’re hooked on wide dirt trails but don’t have the confidence to consistently ride narrower trails with roots and tighter corners, the BEGINNERS group may be for you. Intermediate Relaxed: This ride is for those able to ride their MTB with confidence and would like to explore Lysty at a relaxed pace. Can you ride a loop at Lysty? is your fitness at a level where you can ride 14-20k comfortably. Can you ride 60-70% of the features at Lysty? then this ride would suit you Intermediate Confident: Are you confident on 70-90% of the trails at Lysterfield? do you ride regularly at Lysty and at other MTB parks? would like like a bit a speed and alot of adventure? then this will be the group for you! You must register for this event, QR scanning will be on site, your Vax cert will need to be sighted by our registration team. We will be following strict Covid safe guidelines. We will be running as separate groups, subject to ride leader availability. Once finished join us for coffee and snacks and chats at the Orchard @ Montagues. There is no charge for this event but you MUST register. All riders must have Aus Cycling insurance: https://www.auscycling.org.au/membership  Free 4 week trail is available: https://www.auscycling.org.au/membership/other/free-trial QR scanning will be available on site, we are required to abide by any vaccine or covid restrictions in place at the time. LTB Schools Series preview ride!

Hey Blazers and all other schools series riders! We're holding a special course preview ride for the upcoming Lysterfield round of the schools series, come on down and join us for a look at the courses we'll be running on the day. There will be 3 groups riding, one for the short course, another for the mid course, and another for the long course. This will all be at a social pace (not racing!), you can ride as many laps as you like, and drop out at any time. If the weather smiles upon us, we'll have a BBQ for all the hungry little riders so make sure to register and secure a couple of snags ;) Parents/guardians will need to be present in case of emergencies. Long course - 4.2km - Comm games half loop (doesn't include climb/descent) Mid Course - 2.5km - Comm games short loop (no rock garden) Short Course - 1.1km - Comm games mini loop (only the lead in section)   Meeting point will be at the hallam nth road carpark, and we'll have the big carpark open especially for this ride. Please try to arrive before 9am as we'll likely have to close the gates before we head out to ride.

Who's got their winter woolies ready?! If the last couple of weeks are anything to go by, we've probably hit the cold season for real now. Who's got the dedication and passion for the sport to head out for the winter rides with us? Rug up and come join the Trailblazers for some chilly winters riding! Groups will be limited to 20 kids per group (Parents are REQUIRED to ride with us - please let us know if this is an issue, we will do our best to accomodate) This month will just be the one group, the "Blazers" for intermediate riders If you just want to head out for your own ride and come back for the BBQ after, this is also fine! just let us know so we can make sure we have enough to go around ;)  **BBQ might be called off if the weather isn't favorable. you're welcome to join us at the montagues cafe for a hot choccie instead if we end up calling off the snags... Blazers (intermediate) - more challenging ride mostly on single track, but taken at an easy pace. ~9km start to finish Time & Place: Please enter via Horswood Road, drive through the gates and turn LEFT at the roundabout into the carpark, then follow this all the way to the loop at the end. We meet at the BBQ area nearest to the dam wall and skills park. Check in from 0830 to 0850, for a 0900 ride out for all groups Meet back up at the BBQ area around 10:30 for some snags, drinks, and catch up on the ride Duration: (roughly 1.5hrs ride time, varies depending on group speed). Cost: FREE - but you must register all participants (Parents and Guardians do not need to register) (If you are an aus cycling member and having trouble registering, please send an email to mos@auscycling.org.au with your membership details and the issues you are having) All Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian - we are unable to take unsupervised children for this ride We are required to abide by any vaccine or covid restrictions in place at the time.
