Lysty Chicks September Ride
Lysterfield Park
08:30 – 12:30
Come along for a relaxed social ride on Lysterfield’s beautiful mountain bike trails. We ride in three groups, so no matter your fitness or experience, there’s a place for you. All groups are no‑drop, supportive, and social.
If the singletrack is closed, we’ll switch to a fun mini mystery adventure within Lysterfield Park.
We ride in all weather unless conditions are deemed unsafe. If a cancellation is required, you’ll be notified by email.
Foundation Group
New to mountain biking? Returning after a break? Or just keen for a cruisy ride with a few challenges along the way?
Expect 10–13 km, some hills, gentle features, plenty of breaks, and lots of laughs.
Perfect for absolute beginners through to competent riders wanting a supportive, easygoing group.
Intermediate – Relaxed
This group suits riders who are confident on their MTB and want to explore Lysty at a steady pace that gets the heart rate up, with short rests along the way.
If you can comfortably ride 14–20 km, complete a full Lysty loop, and ride around 95% of the features, this is your ideal group.
Intermediate – Confident
For riders who are comfortable on all Lysterfield trails and features, ride regularly, and enjoy a faster pace with minimal stopping.
If you’re a “less talk, more ride” type and ready for 18–25 km with around 500 m elevation, this is the group for you.
You must register for this event. Groups will run separately and depend on ride leader availability.
After the ride, join us for coffee, snacks, and a chat at The Orchard @ Montagues.
There is no charge, but registration is essential.

LDTR Social Ride - 27/09/26 Red Hill
Arthur's Seat MTB - Lower Mountain Carpark
09:30 – 13:00
Spring has sprung and we're off to Red Hill!
This month we'll be taking our social ride to Red Hill MTB Park. We will meet at 9:15am for a 9:30am roll out from the Boundary Road trailhead: https://maps.app.goo.gl/AP5N8RAF9qHAt5zS9
For anyone not familiar with Red Hill, a higher level of skill and fitness is required compared to the trails at Lysterfield. The climbing and descending trails are a lot longer and a lot more technical than at Lysterfield, with a tough climb straight out of the carpark, followed by more climbing after that! You will get rewarded with some old school hand cut descents though! To make the most out of this ride, please make sure that you are able to:
Ride 100% of the trails at Lysterfield with confidence
Ride 1.5-2 hours regularly, and manage your food and water intake
Sustain a 20 minute steady climb
Confidently climb up switchbacks, and descend down trails with technical features including rock gardens and root sections
We will of course try to seek out the trails with the general skill level of the group in mind, and this will be a no drop ride so you can rest assured that you won't be left behind. This ride is open to everyone aged 18+. Sorry, no minors this time.
After the ride consider joining us for a coffee and snack/lunch at Wombat Cafe or nearby!
What you will need:
A mountain bike in good working order
An Australian safety standards approved helmet
Water, snacks, spare tube
Freshly applied sunscreen
There is no charge for this event but you MUST register.
All riders must have Aus Cycling insurance: https://www.auscycling.org.au/membership
Free 4 week trail is available: https://www.auscycling.org.au/membership/other/free-trial
