LDTR Social Ride - 17/03/24

Let's check out Silvan MTB Park!

As you may have heard the trail network at Lysterfield has suffered greatly at the hands of a severe storm in February. The trails are therefore unrideable, unsafe and the entire park has been officially closed by the land managers until further notice.

As a result the March social ride cannot take place on our regular trails, and we have decided to take our ride to the trails at Silvan MTB Park. We will meet up at 8:45 for a 9am rollout at the Silvan Grey Gum carpark.

For anyone not familiar with the Silvan trail network, a high level of skill and fitness is required compared to the trails at Lysterfield. The climbing and descending trails are longer and more technical than at Lysterfield, with not as much flat terrain so expect to be climbing lots. The descent trails have bigger features such as drops and jumps, so you will need to keep your wits about you! We will of course try to seek out the trails with the general skill level of the group in mind, and this will be a no drop ride so you can rest assured that you won't be left behind. You are also free to leave at any time if you have other commitments. If needed one of our ride leaders will be available to safely guide you out.

What you will need:

• A mountain bike in good working order
• An Australian safety standards approved helmet
• Water, snacks, spare tube
• Freshly applied sun screen

There is no charge for this event but you MUST register.
