Foundations

Just started or returning back to MTB, this is a great introduction to feeling more confident on the bike. Book in for this free session today! The session is offered at no cost to riders attending the Women Shuttle Day, 12th Nov.

Duration: 2 hours per session

Maximum: 6 participants per session

Covers the key skills such as:

  • Body position

  • Gears

  • Braking

Particular techniques explored on the day will depend on the interests and abilities of the riders present. A moderate level of fitness is recommended

An Explore MTB session will help you build a strong foundation for your riding. By developing strong skills and techniques, you will gain confidence and have more fun riding your bike. Mountain biking is so much fun and we think everyone should have a go! Take the fear out of failing, and let us help you develop your skills in a safe and supportive environment. By creating and refining strong foundational skills, and progressing at your pace, you will be able to expand your skills and feel more confident to explore new trails and features.

We believe in keeping it simple. - We’ll explain the “what, why and how” of a skill - We’ll show you clear visual demonstrations of a skill - We’ll work with you to practice each skill in a controlled environment before taking it to the trails - We’ll provide feedback and encouragement to help you get to grips with each element of riding

About me I'm Michelle and I've lived in Forrest with my husband and two kids since mid 2019. I am a PMBIA Level 1 Instructor and Guide, and also an AusCycling Development Instructor. I have a WWCC and First Aid. I'm on the Forrest MTB Club committee and I've been involved in the Forrest Trail Revitilisation Project working group. I'm keen to help people get outside and enjoy mountain biking. By helping riders build a strong foundation with their skills in a safe and controlled environment, they can head out with more confidence to tackle features they find out on the trails.
