This peer-led event offers those attending the chance to learn more about adaptive mountain biking and/or wheelchair skills in a parkland environment. Whether participating, observing, or assisting, it’s a great opportunity to connect and explore adaptive sports in a welcoming setting.
The event aims to strengthen connections between the Royal Talbot and AQA communities, introducing a taster of off-road riding and adaptive equipment while developing skills across various parkland terrains. Attendees can expect a safe and supportive experience, build peer relationships, and explore future opportunities in adaptive riding. Additionally, AQA will share information about its services with both participants and Royal Talbot staff.
An alternative adaptive mountain biking session for those with high support needs (e.g., requiring a hoist or extra time to get in and out of the bikes) will be arranged by Dan Waters (Dan.waters@austin.org.au) for further equipment trials at the Royal Talbot.
Day of the Event (11:45am - 3pm):
*Note: Places are limited - maximum of 4 adaptive mountain bike riders per each group session to ensure safe and manageable group size.
